Through the pages of her diary, the heroine of this story introduces the reader to her world, telling us about her life as a student, her family and how she spends her spare time. Sadly, unable to appreciate all the things she has, everything seems boring to her and she only finds interest in "nicking" things at department stores. Shoplifting soon becomes the centre of her life and brings her into contact with a group of classmates with whom she gets up to all kinds of mischief.
However, she is fascinated by another person in her class, a girl of her own age with whom she would love to be friends. The girl has a motorcycle and is renowned as being the sister of the school¿s "legendary" figure: the most popular of all the girls, who has disappeared without trace.
